mecho: House of Marley product launch

25/02/2012

A video I shot and edited at the launch of the Marley family’s audio brand The House of Marley in Melbourne. The video includes interviews recorded in a fairly challenging audio environment as well as footage of performances and the launch party itself.

mecho: State of Design

3/08/2011

This video is a teaser for mecho’s coverage of the Melbourne State of Design festival at the Design Made Trade exhibition in Carlton. As part of mecho.com.au’s Melbourne Video Crew we spent the day gathering footage of the exhibition and doing interviews with some of the exhibiters. For this video I operated the first camera as well as editing. More videos from this event are to follow as they are released on the mecho site.

Frankston TV: Natured Kids

12/06/2011

Here is a small editing job that I took on for the Natured Kids playgroup. They are an organisation that promotes children going outside and experiencing the natural world through play and fun activities. The client had some raw footage shot on a consumer DV camera and I feel we were able to turn it into a nice neat little video promoting both Natured Kids and the city of Frankston as a whole.

MAKEDO for mecho

12/06/2011

Ok, so I know that so far posts on this blog have been somewhat sporadic. But I thought I had better ad another video that I worked on near the start of the year. I think I’ll let the video speak for itself but I will say that shooting it was a lot of fun and the guys at MAKEDO were extremely good to work with. For this video I worked the main camera and edited.

I’m Baaack

12/06/2011

Wow, has this blog been neglected or what. I really do apologise internet, the last semester of uni made life incredibly hectic and as a result this blog kind of fell by the wayside. But never fear, as of last Friday, the semester, as well as all of its exams has finished – leaving me free to focus my attention on what I like doing.

Don’t get me wrong, I do really enjoy my uni work. This last semester has been great as it has introduced me to 3D modelling in 3Ds Max and motion graphics using After Effects. Both of these skills I’m sure will prove incredibly useful in the real world.

As well as studying I did still manage to knock out another video for www.mecho.com.au. This was coverage on the ManStyle exhibition held at the National Gallery of Victoria. Have a gander!

Why $500 worth of RAM from RamCity.com.au would be ace

11/05/2011

Ever since I replaced my trusty iMac with a Quad Core Mac Pro I’ve been thinking one thing, “needs more RAM”. This computer has been great so far but its going to need a few upgrades to really get it purring along nicely. The 4GB of ram that is currently installed in the computer handles my every day emails and web browsing well enough, but the moment I open up Final Cut Pro and some Adobe Creative Suite applications thats when the slow down really starts. So please RamCity – please grace me with 16GB of glorious DDR3 RAM modules so I can get back to creating awesome multimedia without having to seriously limit the amount of applications I use.

This kit in particular would do nicely, just say’n.

Well this is new…

29/01/2011

Well hello there. Welcome to the very first post on my blog. I should probably introduce myself. My name is Chris Page. I am currently studying digital media at Melbourne’s Swinburne University of Technology. As well as my studies I am currently involved in a video production team working with websites to produce video content as well as our own projects. This blog is intended to be a showcase of works that I have been involved in. Either as part of a production team or works that I have produced independently.

Basically this site is mainly devoted to blatant self promotion. It is a fact that if I want to pursue a career in the creative industries that having an easily accessible showcase of my work will prove to be extremely beneficial.

Aside from the whole self promotion aspect I hope that this blog may prove a valuable resource to people with the same interests as me. From this post onwards I plan to share with you some video productions which I, along with my team have recently completed as well as writing about the process that was undertaken to get the finished product. I also hope to share with you any of my own findings as I enter the world of media productions.
